Home Sweet Rome! is a brilliant execution of an original concept the likes of which hasn’t been seen before on kids TV! It’s a genuine organic international collaboration between leading talent behind and infront of the camera that has delighted audiences on BBC, Family Channel and RAI and many other territories worldwide. It has singing, dancing, busking, tears, laughter, and dinosaur costumes brought to life by the unique talents of young rising stars Kensignton Tallman, Ava Ro, Federico Ielapi and Christian Monaldi. Amazing music videos shot on location in some of the most beautiful places in the world along with breakthrough fashion, unbelievable cooking and traditions new and old, Home Sweet Rome is a uniquely joyful television experience.
Filmed on location in Rome, Home Sweet Rome! is a music-driven coming of age story about Lucy, a 13-year-old girl who moves from the US to start a new life in Rome with her dad, who just married Francesca an Italian pop star. Lucy will learn to adapt to her new city, new school, and new life with a famous step-mom, all while going through the growing pains of being a 13 year-old girl, with the additional challenge of her best friend, Kyla, being 6000 miles away.
Based on a concept by Michael Poryes (Hannah Montana, That’s So Raven), the series is developed by the duo Matt Huether and Courtney Jane Walker (DeGrassi: Next Class), that will also serve as showrunners. Shot entirely on location in Rome, each episode will feature original songs, written by Alex Geringas and Chen Neeman.
